Anyone want to make $50.00 tuning my mag?

Alrighty, heres the deal. I have a x-valved, z-gripped mag, roguerail, ULE, ULT, the whole bit. It looks real sharp, and shoots quite amazingly. BUT... (and this is quite a big but. Anna Nicole size but.) THE THING WILL NOT STOP LEAKING DOWN THE BARREL!!! It is a small leak, but it is always there. Whats more, it is extremely sensitive in the valve area, and will leak more or less depending on where the valve is being pushed. It cannot be over or under tightened, and if it twists at all in relation to the body starts hissing like mad. I probably lose 2-3 pods of usable air per tank with this beast.

So here is my thinking. After Huntington Beach this coming weekend, I have a couple weeks off from team practice. Therefore, I would love to send my mag out to someone who could find out just what the heck is wrong with it. Right now, as I am in Southern California, I would rather find someone to do it locally than send it cross-country to AGD. (last time it took me a over a month there and back)

Does anyone want to take on the task of trying to fix my mag? It isnt going to be an easy thing. I've tried jsut about everything I can think of, orings, ULT shims, the entire level-10 kit, and none of that works. If you feel up to the challenge, I will pay shipping both ways, and give you $50.00 on top of that. Like I said before, I'd prefer the person to be somewhat close to Southern CA.

    Thanks,

    Kevin

PS. If you think I am being stupid not to just send my mag out to AGD in the first place, please tell me so. I promise I won't be offended.

Where in SoCal are you? I can take a look if you're
anywhere near by... *edit* at no charge...

You might need a new bushing, but to rule out the
obvious, does it leak when you hold the trigger down?

I live in San Marcos, which is about 30 minutes north of San Diego. I will be in Huntington Beach from tonight until Late Saturday night, unless by some miracle we do really well and make it to semi's.

The mag leaks regardless of trigger position. You can change leak intensity by pushing on the sides of the valve, and if you over- or under-tighten the field strip screw, that will change the leak as well.

I have to say: I am really overwhelmed by the generousity coming out of AO right now. I have no less than 7 offers to look at my mag, and even one guy willing to take a look while I am at HB. Thank you all enormously!

I plan on going to the shows at HB tommorrow...

If it isn't fixed at the show, you can swing down whenever
you're up for it. I'm in Cardiff (next to Solana Beach
and Encinitas) so it shouldn't be too bad of a drive
          for you.

You didn't post, but did you do the full RT parts kit?
