pin problems

ok, on my mag, the pin that locks into the body rail that is right in between the 2 oil holes keeps sliding out, not all the way out tho. This in turn forces me to fully take apart my mag and put the pin back in place by tapping it with a hammer. my questions are, will tapping it with a hammer damage the internals? and is there any way to prevent this? and can i just take the pin out?

You really should have the pin in there,besides helping with alignment it's also a safety issue.

I'm suprised it's coming out so easily,they're usually impossible to get out when you want it out.

Either try some epoxy or perhaps take the pin and put it on a hard surface (metal vise)and hammer it on the end,just enough to 'ovalize' it a tad and then see if it will drive in and hold a bit firmer.(just a thought)
