    Upgrading My Classic Powerfeed

Hi I just bought a left powerfeed automag classic and wanted to know what I should do to upgrade it. I dont want the x-valve only becasue i know i couldnt shoot over 10bps yet alone 26 bps so anyways heres what im thinking... Y-frame, Level 10 upgrade, Splash parts kit including barrel. Anything else or should i change anything?? Thanks!

    hello, welcome, and good choice!
my advice is this, for what its worth:
play with the gun. every time you play at the end of the day ask yourself what would have made the gun better for you. what would you like to fix if anything. the first thing i wanted from my minimag was to not chop, then to shoot a little faster and lastly my velocity adjuster would back out slowly over the course of the day and id have to re chrono often(more on this later). i remedied all of these things with 2 big upgrades and a few smaller. lvl10 was the big one because it :
    1)reduced if not eliminated chopping
2)reduced recoil to nil, now my velocity doesnt budge even after days of play.

the intelliframe upped my rate of fire to my desired level very nicely.

a parabolic powerfeed plug and some plastic nubbins and you shoul be in really good shape.

i played today(and many other days) against eblades, intimidators, 03 shockers, matrices and angels and have been very happy with my performance and my guns.

Intelli, some suggestion for me are...

        1. Listen to Dave
        2. Level 10
        3. A decent barrel, I have a Boomstick, but you can probably find other high quality ones cheaper than that.
        4. Don't get the splash kit. Just have whatever peices you can anodized later on when you can afford it.
        5. Find the right paint to match the barrel you suggest.
        6. Run NITRO

        Hope this helps ya.

And I do not know what a parabolic powerfeed plug is. I have probably seen one, just don't know what it's called.

The parabolic powerfeed plug will help your paint flow into the barrel much smoother then with the old school plug. It has a different angle to help the paint smoothly go into the barrel with out hitting the metal of the feed tube. I think that there is a thread on what makes a parabolic powerfeed plug. Here it is http://www.automags.org/forums/showt...powerfeed+plug

Are you chopping with your mag?

I cannot shoot fast enough to get a powerfeed mag to chop with the stock lvl 7 bolt. You may shoot faster with the y-frame, but it seems to me the lvl 10 bolt doesn't help unless you shoot fast.

It's all up to you obviously, but you may not need the lvl 10, at least for now.

Then again, I see no problem running a standard $5 hopper and CO2.... :o

to my knowlege are the classics just the same design as the oldest mags, back in the day when they just used co2

Yes, they are the same mags. I use one of the mags from "back in the day" amd it works just fine on CO2. Just don't tip the mag to the point where liquid gets in the valve, or you have to hold the trigger until the powertube o-ring unfreezes. While it is frozen, you can hold the trigger and release it to shoot, as long as you hold it again afterwards. It gives you a reduced rate of fire, but it "keeps you in the game". I got this from the video that came with the old mags.
