Which marker to choose??

ok here's the deal

I don't know what to chose. I'm torn between the xmag, new 03 shocker(nasty or octane) and a viking.

I've owned mags before and loved them. The thing is that up here in snow heaven (canada) they're hard to find used and don't go for cheap. I actually only found 1 for sale and the guy whats a lot of $$$ for it. It would actually be cheaper to buy a new shocker or a used viking.

haven't shot any of the 3(i've shot a mechanical mag for 2 years) and nobody seems to have any of the 3 in my area.

If you have tried any of the 3, please leave your impressions.

well, they are all totally diff. guns but if i were you i would go with the xmag.(the ACE is pointless though) Ive shot the 03 Shocker and loved it but i just didnt get the same feel as the x. Never shot a viking... Its all personal preference though so its kinda pointless to ask other ppl.

Hey, I own a shocker and a viking.
I have shot an X-Mag. Thats going to be my next gun. So far my favorite guns are my custom ULE mag.(Deadly wind Dallora body, x-valve, custom logic vert frame, angel mini-reg, and ULT) and my shocker. My shocker is an 04 but same idea. X-mags are nice but for a mag you dont need electronics. Mags are meant to be mechanical. They dont NEED an eye, thats what the level 10 is for. Vikings are nice but they really arent my type. If your really want a good electronic go for the X-mag, but they are expensive. Id just settle for a custom ULE RT for AGD factory. They are so nice! When it comes to a speedball game i pick up my Custom ULE Mag, when it comes to woodsball or scenario i pick up my shocker. I would use my Mag but i run out of paintballs to fast with it for longer games. Its your choice but ive told you what i prefer so whatever you choose i hope your happy with it. Also you gotta think, if you ever have a mag problem, there are always friendly people here on automags.org to help you out

Go for the 'Mag. Then again, it is mostly personal preference.

yeah well the mag is my 1st choice (logic rt ule custom) but i'm from canada, shipping and border charges will kill me........no used ones up the border

I could get a used viking for 1200 CAD, new shocker for 1400 and an xmag for 1650........could probably deal a bit....

I do love the one batterie option for mag/halo combo......

An X-mag for $1650?!?!?!?!?! Is that less in US dollars? thats alot for an X-mag, new it is like $1,365 online. Dont go for the viking.... They suck in my opinion. I still think you should go ULE custom RT it onyl costs like $700 and the border charge and shipping cant be more than $200 right?

that's canadian, it's about 1200 USD, wich is a bit expensive.

yeah, that's 900 usd, wich bring it to almost 1200 canadian....

with the prices that you guys are stating i think youre being overcharged. you said $700 USD for a automag rt custom? i got mine for less than $500, shipped, from http://www.whitewolfairsmithing.com/...er_pricing.htm with everything except for the ule rail. the only down side is time, but id rather buy a mag and wait the extra two weeks for $200 off the price.

i dont see why you guys are dissing the eye. true the gun wont chop with level 10 but it will still misfeed. I can see how missfeeds would be pretty common if your shooting 18+ bps and the ace woiuld help prevent that.

having shot all but the shocker, I think I can give an unbiased opinion.

xmag. great marker, reliable, doesnt chop. build like a tank, very easy to maintain, cocker threaded bodies, hey, whats not to like..

efficiency. thats the only thing I dont like about it. I cannot get nearly as many shots/tank with an xmag as I do my viking.

having said that. I own a viking. destructive customs viking to be exact. the profile on the viking is a little taller, but, not by any huge difference. vikings are also built like a tank. again, also very easy to maintain, and cocker threaded.. barrels galore for this. to boot, they are super efficient. I can get at least 1500 rounds on a 68/45 most of the time. give or take a few.

quality of markers, both excellent. both companies have high standards for their markers.

customer service, both again excellent. AGD and AKA have to have some of the best customer service I have ever dealt with ever. period.

so, whats left to say? go shoot all 3, find out which one you like best. it is afer all, your personal preference. try to make it a point to ignore people who just say, this gun sucks, or that gun sucks and then basing your opinion on that. get facts and personal experiences about them from people here, such as you are doing.

for pricing, im not sure If you have contacted some places here in the states, but, NEW, you should be able to pick up an 04 (there are still some around) viking for 1206-1306 CAD (http://www.ontargetentertainment.com/viking04.htm) not sure stores around there that stock xmags, nor the speficic shockers you are looking for.

good luck with your decision, and remember, try to shoot as many as you can before you decide.

You can't go wrong with a Vike or a ULE MAG. My teammates all shoot Vikes on the AKA sponsored team I play on, but I shoot a MAG. I am just too comfortable to switch to something different. My mag never chops, is consistent, accurate, and is fast enough. (Vikes are the same, but SUPER UBER FAST!!! HEHEHE) What more can you ask for?

In response to why i dont like the viking, its a good gun but its not very well known. Most shops dont carry parts for it and upgrades really consistant. I mean look at the mag. They are coming out with new things almost every month. Soon the HAIR trigger set-up will be out and who knows wuts next!!!
The viking is obviously a nice gun but its hard to get replacement parts for it. Mine had a problem and my local airsmith didnt even know how to fix it. I had to send it to my sponsors smith. It took two weeks before i could use it again. I dont know what it would be like in Canada. I wanted to have my viking custom fitted with a 90 degree trigger instead of the crappy stock 45 and it was going to cost $320 plus shipping. For the automag you can get a backwards 45 degree trigger (y-Frame) or a 90 (Logic Vert Frame) for only $120. Its up to you but id go either the Custom ULE RT or the x-mag. Personaly i would go the Custom ULE RT cause its cheaper and that leaves more cash for accesories. Its up to you

One thing about AKA markers like the Viking,
I've heard bad things about the customer service.
So if there's a problem with the marker, you are probably going to be up a creek.
