Why no CO2 for Retro or X valves?

Why can't these valves be used with CO2, if the classic valve can?

Is it just the whole heat/cool cycle thing would be bad with high rates of fire, or am I missing something?
Yes, my Mag is made of steel.

    do a search.

One factor is that they require too high of an input pressure.

      Actually no...

Preset HPA tanks put out the same PSI as a CO2 tank will.

The reason behind "no CO2" is two-fold. 1 being, the orings in the valve aren't designed for CO2, and therefore can crack & leak.

#2 is that the valve recharges so quickly that the CO2 wouldn't be able to phase change from liquid to gas quickly enough. It doesn't matter how much remote line and expansion chamber space you have. CO2 is stored as a liquid, and requires heat to transition. When you shoot rapidly, the temp goes down in the tank, lessening the heat available to the CO2. HPA is stored as a gas and doesn't need the phase change.

You can get about 3 shots of CO2 into a RT based valve before it freezes up and refuses to shoot.

No they don't. CO2 tanks do not put out a steady 850psi.

As soon as you start shooting it the pressure goes all over the place. A CO2 tank cannot sustain 850 psi for any length of time under heavy firing. Yeah, it holds enough presure to work for few shots.

Because tom kaye makes N2 tanks, not Co2 tanks. If it says no Co2 it'll up the sales of his N2 tanks. DUH.

Just kidding, put the flame throwers away.
