    Velocity issues

I put a Lvl X on my classic valve and was having problems with leakage out the back. A new regulator piston assembly fixed that. However, now I'm having trouble adjusting my velocity to be within legal range. It's perfectly happy to be firing above 330, but I'm having trouble getting it to settle below that and above 160. Is there a break in period for the piston?

I didn't have a break in period with my new reg piston that I recall.

Which spring are you using? Aside from the velo adjuster, the length of the spring will have a very large impact on your velocity.

      I'm using the red one.
my problem is that I don't have much control of adjustment, it's either 160, or 330. it is requiring extremely fine adjustment to get where I need it to be. I've never had a 1/32 of a turn change velocity by 150 fps

You definitely need to step up to the next spring. That will bring your high velocity down. No idea why you are getting such a radical jump down, though.

when you say "step up" do you mean the longer or shorter spring?

Longer spring. Try the long grey one. You may also want to pull your valve apart, put a drop of oil on the piston of the bolt, and try it then. Also make sure you are lubricating your valve properly.
