Finally played...think I have bolt stick...

I've been cruising this forum since I picked up a mag last fall. Great forum!!!
Anyway, I've got a classic valve, powerfeed with a lvl10. Last weekend I finally got to use it, but had some problems. The temperature was around 45deg, and I was running a 24oz. CO2 through a Palmers stabilizer in a bottomline configuration. I point the 15deg bottom line forward, so that the gun is a much shorter profile. This allows me to carry the gun with the barrel down without filling the line with liquid. Also, the layout of the course kept aiming mostly level or below...I don't ever remember aiming up (therefore I should not have had liquid getting to my palmer). Anyway, there were a few occasions where the bolt would stick and leak until I tapped the trigger a couple of times. It seemed to come in spurts, like it'd happend 3-4 times in a row, and then it would't happen again for 40-50 cycles. I'm assuming I got liquid in the valve, but I can dry fire it as fast as I want without this happening (though I admit I do that in my house, which is closer to 65deg). Is there anything else I should look at, or is this a clear case of liquid in the valve?
Oh, one more thing... none of my firing was very fast, maybe a 4bps string for 12 balls or so being the max. To give you an idea, I think I used ~400 balls in 5 games.

Thanks for any input. I think I'll test it tonight trying to suck liquid directly into the stabilizer and see what happens.

I doubt you are having a liquid CO2 problem. Most likely you are getting bolt stick. Try going to a larger carrier for the powertube o-ring.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

Ok, I tested the gun last night by tipping the bottle to feed liquid directly into the palmer reg. After a string of about 15-20 cycles, I'd start getting bolt stick. Yesterday, when holding the gun level (no liquid in the reg), I couldn't get bolt stick.

Apparently I am getting liquid in the valve...which is surprising given the rate of fire I'm using and the palmer reg.

As far as reg setup, I've basically turned the valve all the way up, and am using the palmers to control the velocity (basically took the AGD reg out of the equation). Is this the best way to run on CO2, or should I set the palmers at 600psi output, and then use the AGDvalve to adjust from there?

I'm almost positive I used the larger carrier before, and it was leaking. I'll try it again to see if it helps.

Either way, I think I'll install an anti-siphon on my tank...just gotta decide if it's the 24oz or the 12oz...
