Question: X-valve w/ adjustable output tanks

I was planning on buying an adjustable output HP tank. (w/ output from 300 psi to 1000 psi). I was thinking that I would use it to take advantage of my X-valve's reactivity.

Then I asked myself ... "Self ... ? Might there be a problem with valve recharge rate if I throw another regulator in between the tank's first stage reg. and the X-valve?"

I realize that the X-valve requires an input pressure somewhere around 750 psi to "function". I think an adjustable tank with an output range from 300 to 1000 psi should be able to accommodate this. However, should I be weary that the adjustable tank's reg. might not supply air fast enough for the X-valve?

Get yourself a nice AGD Flatline system. My friend has one for his X-Valved Minimag and it's really reactive. He gets full auto out of it.

A flatline will work for you. In fact preset tanks will work on the RT valve. But as you correctly though to yourself, an adjustable tank will give you a VERY useful ability to dial in hwo the trigger feels from the different input pressures.

And now to post my signature thread:

        Z-Man,
in about a week i may be trading my preset 68 3000 for a Steel Flatline. How much weight will my Mag be gaining? I'm sure if i'm going to like a steel tank because of the flat bottom. I can't use a cover with a rubber grip on the bottom.
