    choppin' real bad

My friend has a mag and after seeing what you guys thought it was worth, I don't think he'll be willing to sell. So, I thought I'd try to fix the problem he's been battling with his mag- it chops like crazy. He's tried foamy bolts, both types of nubbins (except the new plastic one), and different barrels with no help. We thought maybe he shortstrokes it or somethin', but I don't see him do that very often (counted twice in a year). However, I do see him shooting really slow just screwin' around and it will just chop. He's got nitro, no problem there- and he's tried all different kinds of paint (nothing less than blaze, but usually infernos or all-stars). So what the heck is his gun doin', or is it him? Will the superbolt or that new nubbin work? Thanks in advance.

Maybe he has a burr or something else sharp in his breech. What kind of feed? power or classic? does he have a revvy?

he's got a classic feed. he's got a revvy, too. I think he's totally stripped the gun down a couple of times to figure out what the problem is, so I don't think he'd miss a burr or something like that, but I'll ask him.

If he had Classic Feed wouldn't he not have a Powerfeed Plug??????? It might be that he has problems with the trigger rod. What paint is he using?
          I have no Sig.

Like I said in the original post, he is using allstars and infernos primarily. I'll tell him to screw around with the trigger rod.

My power feed doesnt match up perfectly with my barrel (eg there a few mm's where i can see the barrel through the power feed whole)I have to put the barrel in, then pull out out a little bit to stop it fowling.

                Nooooo!

Please do not mess around with the Trigger rod unless you have calipers and know what the factory setting should be.

Have you done Bounce test with the paintballs that you're using?

When you say "Chopping like mad" do you mean Actual CHOPPING, as in the ball only gets 1/2 way into the breach, or "Chopping" as in, a ball breaks in the breach?

sorry i didn't get back to you guys, but he didn't touch the trigger rod, and it's choppin' after it gets into the breach, or so we think, unless it gets stuck halfway, 'cause it will sometimes break after one shot, not in rapid fire.

does he have more than one barrel? Maybe his nubbin is horribly deformed or something.

How fast is he shooting, and does he have an extended nose bolt? Also is he sure the balls are actually chopping, and not breaking somewhere in the barrel.

First, check the nubbin, or replace it. Make sure that it doesn't protrude too much into the barrel. Check with a paintball how easily it goes through it.

What kind of paint is he using? Do a bounce test, and if it's too brittle, use the salt-slurry thing or leave it open, or try a differant brand.

it could be double feeding too, or he can be shooting too fast.is it powerfeeD?

                              ATTENTION
my old powerfeed plug would catch balls halfway in the breech. i would recommend getting a new one before anything else.
