    ripped and upset =(

well, I recently bought a mag off PBN:

    (im gun butcher there btw)

I got the gun but had to put it away for a week or so cuz of mid terms. Anyway I bring it to my shop thinking maybe the minor orings need changing, and I do that to all used guns that I buy. Well, they gas it up and it leasks out the back. They check it out even more and the owner/head airsmith/friend says to me that "the mag is shot." This leaves me rather upset because as you see in the thread he said it "works great."

I know I should have been more careful, but the repair costs is $85 which would have been more but the owner knew I over payed ($150) for a non working mag. Hell, its almost the cost of a new mag, or if I add another $100 I coulda gotten an RT ULE custom. I guess im SOL.

i dont believe that a mag can ever be "shot". any problem with an automag can usually be solved by orings, or by how much pressure is going into the gun. you said that the air came out the back of the valve, this sounds to me like the velocity is too high. try turning it down a bit to make sure this isnt the problem

that what I first thought. But they checked it out more, seems that the piston reg, power tube spacer and other stuff had been complete worn out...

$85 why, you should have given that valve to AGD and for the total of $225 you could have had the new x-valve and a level 10, thats only $135 more for a very competitive gun with some serious reative triger.

LOL, I wonder if you guys read the link...

Zneaky, I thought about that once I got the bill. Unfortunateky, the guy never mentioned these problems before/during/after the sale. Other wise I would have never bought it.

Tuna, thanks for the help. It was a hassle for my shop to put the parts in. The owner spent a good 2 hours working on it.

I guess I should mention that when I got the mag, it had some weird aftermarket valve. This is my first mag so I thought it was an upgrade or something.

Im selling a pgp to cover the costs of the repair. If anybody's interested send me a PM I'll give you details...
