    Macro vs. steel braided hose

I know steel braided hose, if leaking, you can just put the some teflon tape on, and tighten up and that usualy stops the leak. However, macro, i often see guns that leak on both macro fittings. Does anyone have suggestions on how to keep this from happening, or special techniques.

I would go with macro. With my steel hose it leaks out both ends..and theres teflon tape on both ends.

Sometimes if a Macro is leaking I'll put a few drops of PB type oil in there. That usually stops any leaks. Also if you've recently taken the line off make sure it is pushed all the way back into the fitting. MBro is also right if there are any jagged edges it will cause a leak.

Also, about once a year I pull every oring out of the Macro hardware and then go to a hardware/plumbing store and buy new o-rings. I usually get bad leaks around the end of the year and this always fixes my problem.

If you don't already know how to take the oring out of Macroline hardware here's how to do it. Get a pair of pliers and pull the little disk thing (I'm not thinking well right now so I can't remember the names) that goes between the hardware and the macroline (while the line is out of course). After that is pulled get a dental pic or tooth pick or something else and fish the oring out. You've got it, now just find a match at a store and buy a bunch of extras so next time you will already have everything you need.

          Good luck.
