They hold an overly broad patent on using electronic switches in a paintball gun and threatened many companies with lawsuits. Thats how I hear it at least.

Indeed, they have a patent on electronic triggers.

I think if anything, this will lead to mechanical markers making a comeback, or somebody finding a way around the patent.

Yeah. I'm hoping someone fights them and gets (what sounds like to me) that overly broad patent thrown out.

I hope they do. When I get enough money I was planning on buying a brand spankin new X-Mag.

Yes, the patent is overly broad. And yes, Smart Parts is bad. Don't ever buy any of their porducts ever again.

          That's just my opinion.

I agree with the first part, however what do you suppose other companies would do if they held the patent? Do you think they would welcome competition for their markers, or do what Smart Parts has done?

Though it isn't the nicest thing that they done, I think many others would have done the same if they had the foresight to get the patent.

If they have the best products for the best prices, I would buy them. Since I don't think they do, I wouldn't buy any of their markers, but maybe a barrel.

            Just my opinion.
