Today I got a AGD Flatline Air system for my Minimag. I have a macro line running from the Flatline regulator to a gas-through foregrip. From the foregrip to the valve I have a stainless steel hose with a quick disconnect. When I turn off the air from the Flatline, there is still a lot of residual gas pressure in the hoses even after a few clearance shots. I found out that if I keep pulling the trigger over and over, I can bleed some more air out but it still doesn't get all of it out. Then I have pull the steel hose off with a little bit of air in the hoses still and it shoots air when I disconnect it. I want to know what the best solution is for completely bleeding ALL of the air out so I may safely remove my X-Valve. Right now valve removal is difficult.
How do I bleed residual gas pressure from Flatline?

I have a 1/8" NPT purge valve that I got for about $8 from Cooper-T Products.
I simply removed the plug from the spare port on my ASA, and installed the purge valve. It works great. It does require that you hae a spare port, though. -
I have the same problem going from my 850psi preset to my e-mag. I use a braided steel hose with quick disconnects so I can pop the hose off of the gun but the air gets trapped in the hose and I sometimes have to unscrew the hose to bleed out the air. This has been very frustrating.
Another thing - using an X-Valve/lvl10 with a 850 psi preset tank - the gun will not shoot when the tank gets down under 1000psi. I've tried a couple of tanks and it seems to happen on all tanks. When playing tourneys and they only have 3000psi fills on the field that only gives me 2000psi per game - which is a ***** for a back player.

That's a real good idea but the problem is that I don't have a ASA. I have a Flatline Air system with a dovetail mount.Originally posted by mobiusI have a 1/8" NPT purge valve that I got for about $8 from Cooper-T Products.

In your first post you mention macroline running from the Flatline to a gasthrough foregrip. Is that a foregrip that bolts directly to the rail, or one that threads into a vertical ASA? You can replace the foregrip (or ASA, if applicable) with one that has two ports, instead of one. Doc Nickel sells vertical and 15 degree ASA's with dual ports, in polished or black.Comment

The foregrip goes to the vertical ASA. Two ports sounds like a good solution, but I don't want to really spend more money on my Mag right now. Unless it's really cheap to get a double port vertical ASA.

I've seen slidechecks on remotes. I have a remote with one on it, can it be used? Where would I mount it?Originally posted by ghideon

Doc Nickel has them for $32, I think, plus shipping. And the $8 for the purge valve. Dunno how much you're willing to spend.Comment

I found this on the Lapco site:
Dual Port Vertical ASA
Looks like a good solution, or I could just save money by pulling the trigger about twenty times.
(that trigger pulling only worked once for me since I had a carrier o-ring leak)
Since then I stopped the leak and when I gassed it up again there was no way to bleed the air. So I had someone use wire cutters to clip the macro line.
It popped and let all the air out like a ballon. Imagine if my Mag was running all stell hoses, i'd probably SOL or I'd be in a dangerous situation with 400 psi in the lines remaining.

Mobius,
I've decided your solution is the best. :)
I wil have to get a hold of the $14 Lapco dual port vertical ASA and a bleed valve.
Thanks for the input.

The way my set-up is, I have some macro line coming off the Flatline and leading to a Staubli Proconnect. The proconnect is then snapped right into the male end that comes off the bottom of my foregrip (Classic RT).
Works nice. I just disconnect the Proconnect and all the air bleeds out from the valve to the male end of the Staubli. And I just don't worry about the air left in the macro.
Proconnect is definitely the way to go if your setup will work with it. It saved me a lot of air when I had my bolt stick problem.

That setup is nice but it won't fit on my gun. The elbow coming from the fore-grip and the elbow from the Flatline are about an inch away each other. There isn't enough room for the macro to fit probably. I think I might get the dual vert ASA with a purge/bleed valve, just like on SCUBA fill stations. The part you unscrew to bleed air after a fill.
