    Level 10 bolt piston query

    Greetings from sunny south africa.

I am currently using an E-mag with level 10 installed , works like a dream all is setup 100%.
In one of my games on the weekend I could hear my marker had a distinct ring to it when I shot, then it started to leak down the barrel and would stop when I held down the trigger.I just held out to the end of the game and did the whole paintball delivery thing.

After the game I took my baby to bits and noticed the bumper was completely gone, I have replaced it on numerous occasions so it was the obvious problem.
Except when I checked the bolt I could see the piston was sticking out a bit longer and was a bit loose. I literally just pushed it back in against the table. Put another bumper in, and away I go, works like a dream again.

    1. My question is will that piston come loose again? (I need to obviously keep an eye on the bumper cause thats why it came loose)
    2. The other question is there a proper procedure for fixing that piston back into the bolt? (or do you just push it back in)
    3. Is it an issue to use the blue bumpers from the automag kit? (Ive seen alot of threads on this site saying that its fine and then saying its a bad idea.)

I have also seen threads about the newer level 10 bolt being a one piece, but I obviously have an earlier bolt.

Any ideas/solutions would be greatly appreciated. Not many guys in SA with E-mags so help is only off the net for me.

    Thanks in advance

The bolt piston backing out was a common problem because they didn't loctite them from the factory. If you scuff up the surface that press fits into the bolt a bit and then clean it off with rubbing alcohol and put a drop of red (permanent strength) loctite on it, it will stay in forever.

Be sure to push it back in with an arbor press or use a plastic face mallet. The overall length of the bolt from the tip to the front of the bolt should be 2.010"

To fix your bumper issue, use some super glue on the back side of a new bumper and push it down on the valve. Be sure to clean the base of the powertube first. This will keep it from shifting around and getting chewed up by the LX bolt.
