    Problem with freak

I got my freak today and I haven't ever seen one for a mag. Anyway from what I can tell you have to slide the inserts in from the barrel side. Anyway the rubber that holds the inserts in place seems to rub off the Lettering and bore size printed on the inserts. I was just wandering if it will keep doing this or if it will break in and stop after a little use. Thanks for all the help.

i had the same issue when i got mine. eventually the rubber loosens up a little bit but it will still, eventually, rub off the lettering on the inserts. i don't think it's anything to worry about thought. hope this helps.

Try lightly oiling the inserts, this will lube rubber and keep letters longer.

i don't know about you, but i don't really care about the letters. as long as the sizes stay there i'm fine. but even if they were to go i wouldn't care because i test the ball to the insert anyways. so does it really matter?

          Engrave your inserts!

You could take your inserts to a place that does engraving. I've seen two types: the first is the most common, and can be found at places that sell cigarette cases, flasks, etc. and uses a needle-style engraver to etch your text and/or graphic designs onto the material, resulting in bare metal being exposed in the case of the inserts.

The second is laser engraving, and generally leaves white text/lettering, is way more versatile, can do complex graphics, but is harder to find.

Prices are quite inexpensive, as the price to get something engraved allows a set number of letters, say $10 for 3-5 letters and then 50 cents per additional letter. Perfect to put those bore sizes back on for good!!

thanks for the help. I will oil ir and see if that helps. And no it doesn't really matter but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask. Thanks again.

Or just write down the size/color combinations and stick them on the inside of the freak case with some tape
