    Friend's LVL7 problem

My firend has a classic mag with lvl7 bolt. He is experiencing "blowback", air blowing back from the chamber and forcing balls back out of the feed tube. What causes this?

if his barrel is large bore and he has the short nose level 7 bolt and no powerfeed then this can be a problem. if you can find an older longnose level 7 bolt this will help. a smaller bore barrel will help some too, less space around the bolt when the ball is chambered. a force feed hopper will also help.

for the cost of a barrel, powerfeed body, hopper you may as well tell him to get a level 10 kit instead. the most logical solution that will solve many if not all of the mags shortcomings

I want to say that he has a powerfeed but I have no idea the length of his lvl7 bolt....

The problem arizes because the bolt speed of the mag is so fast. The bolt goes forward dumps its air and then returns while there is still air pressure in the barrel. Some of the air pressure escapes up the feed tube. It shouldn't be a problem with the powerfeed body as the escaping air actually helps bounce the ball into the chamber.

The longnose bolt helps a bit. I would suggest getting a level 10 bolt though.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
