You should go to each gun manufacturers forum or call them up. Ask the OWNER of the company why his gun is better. When you get your answers come back here and tell us what they said.

You should buy my gun because I have 5000 posts that say I care.

To answer that question you would have to find out what the output pressure is on your compressor.

the connection needed to fill a nitro tank is a female quick-disconnect, right? I'm in about the same situation as he is. I know the output pressure is 3000psi though.

I am certainly no expert ... but be sure your compressor has the needed filters and such to keep moisture, dirt, etc out of your tank... you do NOT want to be blowing High Pressure Mud through your gun...

is there any way to add filters if it doesnt? Also, the fitting that attached to the fill nipple on the tank is a normal quick disconnect, correct?

If you have a standard compressor, the kind you use to run shop tools then its not a 4500psi unit, more like the 140-160psi range. If you do have a dive tank type compressor 3000psi+ than your lucky and you can fill your tanks but you want to use a filter/dryer on the air line. You can get the filter/dryer units from dive shops and some high end welding shops. As for the fittings check AGD's shop and use there disconnects, they are the best on the market and rated at the 5000psi+ rateings you need(Same fittings used at most tournies on the fill stations)
If you do fill your own tanks, be carfull and realy check your fittings before every fill, you dont want to messup with pressures over 150psi it will hurt.

Uhm, sounds like a large tank style shop compressor for tools. Size does not equal pressure. You have alot of compressed air, its just all under 150 psi.

Shop compressors are only good for 200 PSI max. They are desgined to run air tools.

The type of compressor you need for paintball is not that type. You would fins them in scuba shops or paintball fields.
