    ULT leak

hey all, i searched for an answer for this and couldent find it.. ok here goes.. i have an x valve with LX and ULT input is around 850.. lx is .5 carrier and 1 shim middle spring.. ult is 4 ult shims i think.. ok i had my ult in my gun.. was working great for the longest time.. could sweet spot it nicely... but since i was going to play in tournamnts i turned the pressure down and took a few shims out ( i was maxed at 6 i think) it worked good for a little.. then it began to leak.. i oiled it... changed the top o ring on the ult... im thinkin it might be the little black o ring.. but i cant change that cuz my pin was factory loc tighted togeather.. and i cant pull it out... the gun runs perfectly fine with the stock on/off no leaks atall.. the leak will stop if i push the bolt in and let go.. or if i get it to chuff a few times it will stop.. and its just a little annoying small leak the gun still works its just annoying.. i dont know wahts wrong wiht it.. any help would be appreciated..thanx in advance

It might be the bottom oring around the outside of the cage. Maybe it got nicked when you were removing or installing it. I doubt the pin oring is leaking but I could be wrong.

Try installing the same o-ring in your LX setup with a tighter carrier.

If that doesn't work, try a brand new o-ring with the LX.

If you changed the little black o-ring, that would stop any leaking out the bottom but not into the front chamber. The leaking into the front chamber could be caused by either of the two top urethane o-rings or if you have too many ULT shims. Since you reduced to 4 shims, you are probably ok there.

No parts of he ULT should be locktited together. All parts need to move freely.

Pushing the bolt and having the leak stop is quite often a level 10 issue. But air leaking into the front chamber can also cause it. If it works with the original on/off then it could very well be the ULT and not the level 10 carrier o-ring.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

the pin itself is one piece... not 2.... i read something that they started loctiting the pins at the factory.... .. tryed to pull it apart.. its a 1 piece pin....i changed the little top o ring... the leak sounds like its coming out og the bottom.. near the rail... i really gotta stop being lazy and take it to timmy or butch to look at... thanx alot for helpin me guys.. i really appreciate it..

                      Athomas-

He's right. the pin & support have been coming loctited from the factory.
