    Old gripframe...powdercoated?

I have an old Automag with the cast aluminium gripframe. What was the finish used on these? Were they powdercoated?

I've got one, it's anodized as near as I can tell. (that seems to be SOP with aluminum.)

Mine is the old style that was adapted from an Autococker casting (says "WGP" inside). The finish was chipping off, so I assumed it was some sort of paint. However, the shop that was going to strip it for me by bead blasting said that it was powdercoat and would be very difficult for them to remove.

Anyway, thank you for the reply.
