I had a hell of a time getting fitings out of my maxflo. I wound up clamping it in a vice and using a box end wrench and a cheater pipe for more leverage. Use padding in the vice, thick leather or rubber works good. They use some super duper loctite on these things.

I had the EXACT same problem. I bought it used, and the idiot red loctited the fitting on there. Anyway, take out ALL the internals from the valve, put it in a wood/leather lined vice with the fitting sticking up, and take a propane torch to it. You'll need some serious heat to get it off; it will laught at boiling and cigarette lighters. You'll hear a lot of popping sounds, and eventually you will see the loctite melt. Then you get a crescent wrench on it and it comes off like a knife through hot butter (not a good analogy, I know...) I tried using wrenches and devices to increase my leverage, but all I did was strip the bolt.Comment
