Agitating the qloader silo; help on electronics?

I've been considering buying a cheap agitating hopper to replace my qloader silo because it feeds so slowly, but then I thought; I could just buy a motor for like $5, and mount it next to the hole in the silo. Hook up a battery when I'm using it and it would continuously agitate, which is what I want. Would this work?

I was thinking about taking apart my Ricochet AK (Which you need to give back to me at school tomorrow) and putting the rotary blades next to the hole and putting a cover around the battery pack.

But I didn't want to mess my silo up, much less take apart my Ricochet, I still love the thing. The other idea I had was to just take the AIC strap off the Silo and put it on my Ricochet and just loading each Q-Pod through the Ricochet.

But if you really want to agitate the Silo I'd recommend getting a Ricochet Motor since it comes with a sensor. You'd have to cut a small slit in the neck to insert the little sensor tab. Then you'd need to take the rotary blades off the motor, drill a small hole and put the blades through that hole and connect it back together with the battery. That should work, I'm just not sure how to mount the battery to the silo. Maybe with glue? If you drilled into the silo that might mess with the feeding and possibly damage a few balls. Damaged balls are not good for the Q-Loader, that's for sure.

yeah, I know I need to give it back to you. If I used the sensor, I would have to use a board, sensor, and motor; essentially an entire loader. What I was thinking was if I could just hook the motor straight up to a 9v battery; when I'm reloading, it's always on. I don't know if the electronics of that would work though.

        I see what you mean.

Well yeah, easy. All you have to do is keep a continuous circuit open. VL makes this 30 dollar hopper that has continuous agitation so obviously it's possible. If you took, for example, a Ricochet motor all you need to do is rig the on/off button to always be on so it'll agitate until you close the circuit, which would just be to take out the battery.

only problem is the battery power goes through the board first. I don't know if the board alters the power signal from the battery at all before it goes to the motor; this conversation is kind of senseless to do through posts. I PM'd you.

You dont need much to make what you want. Just get the motor, a switch and a 9v battery snap from radioshack.
            Conect everything in series:
wire1 from the motor to the first contact in the switch
contact 2 to the red wire in the battery snap
Wire 2 from the motor to the black battery snap wire

Hookup the battery and turn on the switch.

I looked at the silo this weekend, and I don't know if I can get a motor in there. And if I can, I think I would have to cut the blades shorter because of how thin the silo is. I was thinking of buying a Quantum or something, and modifying the top of it so it holds like 500 rnds.

I've been thinking about this too, but with that long tube, you really don't need the paddles. You just need to agitate the silo itself (like the old motorized loaders). I'm thinking radio shak motor and 9v, and a simple asymetrical weight. A bar with some lead slugs epoxied on one end. Attach it to the top of the silo (duct tape!) and shake the hell out of it.
