    Anybody know about B2K?

I got a used B2K2 a while back, it functions okay I guess. It runs about 210-220 psi, very fast trigger, a few upgrades. The problem is it chops paint. Maybe I'm spoiled, after LX my Mag never chopped, over 20,000 balls and counting. My old shocker never broke paint either.

It will chop everytime if I really rip the trigger, or if I use full auto, even with the max rof set to 6 bps. I'm trying to figure out if I have a problem or if this is typical Bushmaster.

    Any Help???

Its just your average bushy. You need to put a halo on that thing or they just chop like no tomarow.

      2 fixes

      Like the last guy said...

HALO or ICD PDS or TAG Predator Mod.

You can really make that gun RIP if you want to get into it.

        TAG, What's that?

Okay, I got a halo on order, but what's a TAG Predator Mod. I have heard of the SP Ram Mod and I'm thinking about that. Maybe PDS too. But like all things paintball by the time I get this thing to work sweet I could have bought a nicer gun to begin with.

The halo B should keep chops to about 1 in every 1500. A guy at my field has a impulse without vision and a halo b on it and he rarely chops. I can only remember him choping probibly a dozen times out of the 10 cases or so that we haved played together.

I had a Shocktech Bushmaster with PDS. I never broke a ball when I had the eye turned on. What kind of bolt do you have in it? I suggest the Shocktech bolt.

Honestly, I haven't seen any improvement with any bolt over stock.

Replacing the LPR with a VAPOR mod that lets you use the Palmer Micro Rock
will fix shoot down, as will going with a real inline reg (Plamer stab, aka sidewinder).

Then get a better valve (VAPOR or MacDev), then a better board.

The TAG ( http://www.TheAngelGuy.com or http://www.TheAggressiveGeneration.com ) predator mod is a much faster board that installs in your gun.

Basically you are going with the foundation of the bushmaster and building it up with the curent state of the art in valves, regs, and electronics.

No, that's not typical of a Bushmaster. I would first suspect you are running your lpr too high. Bring the HPR up a bit and try to lower the LPR. You might look at the ram o-rings to make sure they are in good shape...a nick or cut will force you to run higher LPR settings and chop paint. There is a mod available to the ram that lets you run very low pressures, reducing the possibility of chopping (SP mod from Shootpaint).
I can run a good 15 bps with my eyes off using an Egg II. A HaloB virtually eliminates chops, as does using the PDS.
....and a vision Imp shouldn't chop either..that's the point of having Vision (PDS, ACE, etc).

                  Okay, here's my deal.

When I got the B2k2 it was completely stock. It ran at about 280-290 psi to shoot 285fps. It would chop if I fired above 8 bps or if I used full auto at any speed. It had the stock barrel and was very loud. I was using a 12v Revy. Lots of blowback.

I made the following upgrades in an attempt to solve the problem:

                  1. Set timing to slowest settting 6bps.
                  2. Freak barrel - a lot quieter.
                  3. New ball detent, used oring to keep it out a little.
                  4. Bonebrake bolt w/orings - eliminated all blowback
                  5. Vapor valve - dropped pressure down to 220psi.
                  6. Cleaned and oiled all orings and seals and replaced LPR spring.
                  7. Adjusted LPR the way ICD says too - w/o guage.

Result: Much quieter much lower pressure but still chops if I fire fast or Auto.

I've got a Halo B on order, we'll see what that does.

It's looking more like I need to add PDS, but I may try SP Mod first.

Im sure that with the halo b you will get almost 0 chops. I would say less than 1 in a 2000. It really depends on how fast you shoot too. If you only shoot 8bps, than youl almost never chop. The guy with the impy at my field fires about as fast as I do (about 14bps) and rarely chops. We also use the cheapest crap paint they sell at the field too, so that doesnt help How fast do you normally fire?

edit: What do you consider fast?

                      Fire rate

Really I'm not sure how fast I fire, this gun is faster than most anything I've had. My cocker will fire fast but they're mechanical and I'd say not more than 8-10 with that. I have a LX Mag which probably won't go over 8 bps, and my shocker is capped at 11.8 I think it says, it hasn't ever chopped in the 10,000 some odd balls I've put thru it and I fire as fast as I can with that. I just used 8bps as a guess at how fast you need to fire to get the thing to chop. It will chop about every 8th ball consistantly even with the rate set at 6bps if I use full auto.

There seems to be somehting abou the design thats wrong. Everyone who has one says that they chop. If I were you I would probibly sell the bko and get a TES. They have eyes and are only 200 new, so you could get one on ebay for 150 or so. I have personaly shot them before and was very impressed with the operation and quility. Since they are spyder clones they are extremly easy to work on too. If your looking for a reliable cheap gun that wont chop, you cant beat the TES.

Got my Halo today, no chops.

Tried to chop tonite with the Halo on, couldn't do it. Hopefully my problems cured.
