    Hyperframe - Level 10 problems

I recently installed a Centerflag Hyperframe on my mag with a Classic 68 valve and Level 10 but ran into 2 problems. The first is that my Level 10 bolt is getting damaged by the sear. The second is if a ball is partially feed and the bolt hits it the bolt does not reset and leaks air. I have to turn off my air supply so it can reset. I have read that my first problem could be caused by a short on/off pin. Is it possibly the cause of the second also? Would a ULE trigger fix these problems or do I live with them?

this is the problem that causes both of those symptoms:

the hyperframe does not energize the solenoid long enough. I've found through testing, that the solenoid should be enegrized for about 30 msec. this is on a standard valve. it's probably close to the same with the RT/X valve.

the hyperframe only energizes the solenoid for about 4 msec from what I've heard. this causes the sear to come up and hit the bolt. the on/off pin is pushing the sear up against the bolt with pressure. this causes the lvl 10 bolt to not reset properly because it slows down the bolt, and it lets air past the on/off into the dump chamber too soon. this force also causes severe wear on the bolt, since the sear is harder than the bolt, the bolt takes the brunt of the damage.

first off, the ULT on/off will create less force, but it will not cure the problem, and it will limit your rate of fire.

    what valve are you using?
    did you modify the pin?

give us some more info and maybe we can figure out a way around this problem.

I am using the Classic valve that is unmodified and the Hyperframe is unmodified and comes with its own on/off pin unmodified. In one review about the hyperframe, the writer said he had Centerflag replace the on/off pin with a longer one and it rectified the bolt-sear problem. I am not sure about the air dumping. I contacted Centerflag who no longer manufactuer the hyperframe or pins and they said a ULE trigger would solve the problems. I was hoping someone else was familiar before I spent the $50 to experiment.

      Thanks for replying Electrician.

well I think that what they are trying to do is put a band-aide on to relieve the symptom instead of fixing the problem, but I think that's all you can do. since you can't change the solenoid energize time without using a different circuit board.

well, what does this centerflag on/off look like? can you post a pic?

is it a modified RT on/off?

if you can't make the pin longer, you might be able to make the on/off shorter.

the problem with using the ULT in a classic is that it can reduce you to 11 bps. kinda makes the whole electro hyperframe pointless.

might be better off using a RT on/off instead. keeps the recharge rate up, the bps up, and can be adjusted to work wit the hyperframe.

but I would like to see this centerflag on/off first.

if you can't tell, I'm not very impressed with the hyperframe. too many shortcomings, not worth the money. but we can get it running good.
