    Used 545 and still leaking.

I added a 45* elbow to my gauges on the Flatllne 3k. This way I can read them with the warp on. Works good!

However - I monkeyed with the working seals, thus now my HP side leaks. Leaks on the elbow to gauge and elbow to regulator connections.

I used the 545. What could I have done wrong? Not enough, too much, too tight (I know it wasn't too loose)? I know it's hard to say without looking at it, but theories can help.

What do I do next? Try to get some pink teflon tape? Try the 545 again? Scream in rage and throw the whole system away and buy another and hope for better luck?

    Thanks for the help.

Have the elbow and guage been frequently removed? Pipe thread can wear out and not seal properly without over tightening if it's taken on and off frequently. Make sure you're tightening the elbow and guage sufficiently and that you're letting it sit and dry with the 545 for about 12hrs at least.

No, I only removed them to do this one change. Before then it was as I bought it from the store.

I also waited a week before filling.

Do you think the 592 would work better?

I personally prefer 592 and find it to do a better job sealing so I'd give it a try if I were you.

I used some ACE Universal Thread Seal. I had some here and figured I'd try it. The leaks are gone.

if the 545 doesn't work, try using teflon tape.
