    Emax Valve???

I am looking for knowledge about the Emax Valve. I may purchase an Emag with one.

    1. Are they aluminum-like an X valve?

    2. When were they made (year)-how many years were they made??

    3. Can I switch my body/X valve to the Emag lowers (and back, to the Intelli) without having to adjust it (level 10/ULT) everytime.
3A. Do I need a shorter pin for the on/off??
3B. Should I remove the ULT with the Emag?
3AA. Would having 2 on/offs (1 standard and 1 ULT) be better or easier???

    Thanks for any help.

    1. Yes, they are an xvalve

    2. Not a whole lot were made. I bought my emag in summer of 03 and it had the emax valve

    3. Yes, but take out the ULT

3A. I believe a different pin is required, check airgun.com store.
3B. Yes, it has been said that it will slow down your emag.
    3AA. Definately.

      Thanks for the info.

Here's another question - What is the latest software for an Emag? I thought it was 3.2, but someone told me it was 1.37 (or something)...What is the difference? AND which is better????

      Thanks

3.2 is the newest approved software. 1.37 is pretty old. 3.2 adds the ability to shoot at 20bps, includes shot buffering, support for ACE and a nifty tool to assist in setting up your trigger in emode (Trigger On/off). You lose the ability to shoot at 3 and 6 round bursts that 1.37 had.

4.0 and 4.01 are versions that were developed but never brought to a final release stage due to certain full auto issues. 3.2 is the official current software revision for the E/X-Mags.

Hey there Rick! To answer some of your questions...

I'll have to ask some...Do you have the ULT installed in your Xvalve? The Emax valve is exactly the same as the Xvalve with just a different engraving. Just like the Xmags just have the X engraved on them. Same alluminum valve with the level 10 bolt kit.

There is a difference between the on/off assembly in Emags and mechanical mags. If you wanted to use the Xvalve with the Emag, just swap out the on/off assembly from the Emax Valve to your Xvalve...and the on/off ULT combo to the Emax valve to be used for your mechanical mag.

4.0 was a beta version of the Emag software that was flashed to a few owners. There were problems with it going full auto giving some tournament players some problems. 3.2 doesn't have this problem so you should be fine. I've fired an Emag with 4.0 and compared it with 3.2 and for me, I didn't see a big difference performance wise. I'm not very fast at walking the trigger but it kept up with me at around 13-15 bps. I just suggest getting a faster loader like the Halo B with Z code. I've never heard of 3.5 however.

My friend has an Emag with the older 1.37 software and it's just night and day with 3.2. It's just a completely different gun with 3.2 and you'll be more than satisfied. Just make sure your wallet can keep up with the amount of paint you'll be flinging on the field!
