RT Pro - I want it, but have questions

Okay, I've decided against getting an a5 as my new gun. I DEFINITELY want a mag because of the light weight, consistency, and compact nature of them. Here's the setup I'm thinking of...

    Black CF ULE body
    .45 Intelliframe with blade trigger
    Reloader Hopper
    ULT kit

1- I can't decide on what type of barrel to get... I LOVE my lapco barrel on my 98c, but I have no experience with the mags detents. Do they prevent rollouts well enough to the point where I wouldn't have to worry about paint types?

If a barrel kit is in order, what would be the best one to get for a length of about 12 inches. I'd want minimal porting because I like gas efficiency be good, but I'd really go with whatever works the best.

2- I'm either going to get a 68ci 4500psi crossfire tank or a 72ci 4500 psi stubby tank (after a while... for the mean time I'll use a 68/30). I wouldn't be able to afford a good adjustable system, so I'm going with a preset. I still don't really completely understand the reactive part of the mag (never shot a new one), but all I'm looking for in my trigger is a light, clean, smooth, short pull. I don't want illegal bounce, but I do want to be able to rip around 10-12 bps with ease. Is this possible with the tank setup?

3- I want a black ULE body, but can't tell exactly which Intelliframe will match it best. Would the brite black, or the flat black match the ULE body?

4- Once I get this mag set up, I really won't have to mess with it will I? And once I shoot enough, what should the consistency be like with good paint?

5- Just curious, what's the weight difference between the Tac One and the ULE Rt Pro?

    THANKS!

    1. well from what i know the mag dents are just like angel dents (springs) on the ULE bodies
    2. Umm dunno ask Zman
    3. go with the brite black if you want to match the ULE (i think its glossy compared to the flat black)
    4. Consistency is very good once you break it in and oil it before every play

      1. Any barrel will do. The detents do a great job of holding the ball. They do no fall out. I personally use a 12" CP one piece or my 10" pipe kit

      2. Get a ULT kit when buying your mag. From what I hear it'll make the trigger pull comparable to an electro. Never shot one, but will be buying one soon. This also reduces the reactivity of the trigger so no illegal bounce.

      3. Not sure. The black ule body doesn't seem to be very glossy. I've never seen a flat black intelli so can't really comment

      4. Mags have a reputation for being low maintenance. Just oil up the o-rings and you'll be ready to go.

      5. The Tac1 body is A LOT heavier than the ULE body.

You shouldn't have any problems with a preset tank. Both you have listed should keep up quite nicely. You won't have to worry about trigger bounce unless you have worn/modified parts or if you put an adjustable tank on and increase the input pressure to a high valvue.

Most of your questions have been answered so here is just an opinion to add.

I have a 12" Equation Multiple switch barrel system with stainless inserts. The porting is not overly aggressive. It is very quiet and the efficiency is good. The barrel is light as well which is nice.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

2- I would suggest you get the 72ci tank. The preset regs will give you a crisp pull and no illegal bounce. I suggest the larger tank because you never know when you might need the extra shots.

4- Once it's been worked in, you should be good to go. To be 100% fair I would say this. The old lvl 7 stock on/off RT valve setup is more robust than when you add the new lvl 10 and the ULT. Now wait wait wait don't flip yet, I just am pointing out that there is a small ammount of tuning that you have to do on the lvl 10 and ULT to keep them happy. The work is minimal and once you understand the concept of what you are doing it's nothing much. It's not like tuning a cocker.

you guys answered the other ones.

Well, it's 100% settled. If I can land a job this summer I'll buy this after a paycheck (I have enough for a DM4 right now, I just don't like taking money out of my account).

As for the tanks, I'll go to the proshop and check out the 72/45 stubby vs. the 68/45. If the stubby feels good and doesn't weigh too much more than the 68/45 I'll probably get it for the extra air.

You guys have been a tremendous help!

I worked out a deal with the parents. I'll pay half of the cost up front, they pay the other half, and I pay off the debt over the summer with a job (should have an interview for Best Buy on sunday)..

But I'm not sure what kinda barrel to get... I've heard some people saying that not all autococker barrels fix exactly right in the ULE body, is this true?

I was thinking of getting another Lapco Bigshot like I have on my 98c, but I'm open to any suggestions.
