Emag not working in mechanical mode

    hi,
My emag came w/ the TL 63 trigger and I took it out and replaced it w/ the stock one. The person I bought it from was using it in E mode only. It worked great in E mode w/ that trigger, but I heard that the set screw for back travel on the top of that trigger can cause damage to the trigger frame. and that it wasnt covered under warranty if it did. anyway. I put the stock trigger back in, and put a on/off quad o ring in between the magnet in the frame and the one on the top of the trigger, and it works fantastic. Really light and nice.

My problem is. My gun is working in both hybrid and E modes, but it wont work at all when I switch it to mechanical. I pull the trigger all the way back and it moves the plunger down, but It isnt engaging the sear. I was thinking that it has something to do w/ the pin length on the plunger. I dont know if it is too long or too short to activate the sear.

If i adjust the plunger rod to make it work in mech mode, will it effect the performance in E mode and hybrid? Im just curious becuase I would like to have all of the features that the Emag comes w/.

I also have a jumper that I thought was for 3-6 round bursts, but I put it on the board and it didnt give me that feature. So, does anyone have a picture of the board and the jumpers, so I will know which jumper it is and what it looks like. Mine only has 1 brown wire loop on the right to ports on the jumper. This jumper goes right behind the noid and near the intellifeed wires to my warp. Is this ths right one.

    Thanks guys,
    yak

Check the length of the trigger rod. Don't mess with the plunger length.

Also, the burst was removed in any software version 2.x and higher.

With regard to the sear issues, if the sear needs any adjustment (perhaps lengthening) it will not affect e-mode or hybrid UNLESS the sear actually touches the trigger before pulling (or when you pull in E-mode).

However, as you are back to a stock trigger you should not have this problem. Black VCG's thread has all the specs that you need to check your sear/solenoid if you have the tools to do so:

This is the forum for trouble shooting your Airgun Designs products, including the Automag, RT, E-Mag, and WarpFeed. Also a great place to ask technical questions about non AGD products. An Airsmith's homeroom!

Make sure you add a bit of LockTite to the sear threads so it does not rattle itself out of adjustment.

thanks guys. I messed around w/ it and got it working flawlessly. All I had to do was increase the trigger rod length. It just wasnt long enough to engage the sear, so I just turned it out about 4 turns and now it works fine in all three modes.

yay. Im gonna go get some beer now to celebrate.

I didnt know that 3.2 software doenst have the bursts modes. Hmm. Then what is the little jumper that goes beside the intellifeed port for. It has one brown loop on it. That is kinda weird because it doesnt to anything when I put it in. No change.

Also, I see now that my bumper o ring behind the lvl 10 bolt and in between the valve, is getting eaten away. Now I need a new flat bolt o ring. it is minor I know, but I am [ this far away ] from having it in perfect order. Geez.

One last question. I have some synthetic PMI paintball gun oil that is kind of a bluish color. Is this oil okay to use in my ASA to get to my valve and bolt? OR, should I purchase some other kind of lube.

        Thanks again,
        yak

          Jumper doesn't do anything anymore.

The bumper is a wear item. It'll happen. I suggest getting a few from AGD.

The oil will work just fine.

            Hey Yak,

I am sorry about the bumper, I though that I had more, but I was out.

Buy those in bulk as they do not last very long. You can glue them to the valve, but I just kept replacing them. a bumper will start to shred after 2-4 cases of paint, but will still work fine. It just sits a little looser on the valve.

The trigger rod was adjusted for the TL63, that is why it was so short. I am glad you got that working ok. There is a stock legth posted here somewhere that blackVGG posted that has the precision measurement. But I do not know what it was.

You are not missing much with the loss of burst mode. It was capped at 6bps. You can wail WAY faster with the emag in semi mode with the 3.2 software.

All in all, how is the mag treating you?
