47/3000 and only about 350 shots

SO..... what the crap. I borrowed my friends air tank, a 47/3000 and got around 350 shots on my 68 classic mag. thats horrible. how do you guys use air at all?? is there some giganticc waste that is going out of my gun??

well... its a 47/3000... thats like the equivalent of a 12oz CO2, right?.... you can talk about mags being gas hogs ad nauseum... but i think its just about using the right tool for the job... mags use more gas, so get a 68/45 at least..... pretty simple....

i have the java 88/45 and i cant imagine shooting that dead in a single game...
or there went my paint budget for the day.

yea, but i dont know anywhere that can fill 4500's. oh well. I didn't know mags were huge gas hogs. I figured with the reg in there they'd be more efficient if anything. Thanks for the info. guess Im stickin to co2.

        barrel?

        When I was using a 47/3k I would get at least 500.

How long is your barrel? The unported section. I would get about 350ish when I used my hacksawed 2.5inch stock barrel.

I think AGD reccomends about 10 inches of unported barrel for best efficiency. Also a good paint to barrel match wouldn't hurt.

Do what I do, play at a field that gives unlimited free 4500psi airfills.

3000 psi tanks give about 10 shots per cubic inch
4500 psi tanks give about 15 shots per cubic inch
          - also level 10 bolts wont work when the tank gets down below 750psi

so the 45/3000 should do around 450 shots, maybe your gun was shooting a bit hot or the paint is too small for the barrel.

When it comes to consistency (=accurracy) compressed Air is way better than Co2. Ill take 400 consistent shots over 800 erratic shots anyday!

You should be able to get around 500 shots off a 47/3000 tank (more or less depending on setup).

The key to efficiency is using a good barrel. Find one that fits the paint. Make sure it has a long enough unported section so that it doesn't wast air while shooting. Also make sure it isn't too long. It takes too much air to maintain velocity as well.

Don't try to push the 300fps envelope. Shoot at around 280fps. You'll save a lot of air.

If you run the level 10 bolt setup, use the short or middle spring (short spring gives best efficiency).

I get about 575 shots with my emag off a 47/3000 tank.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
