    AHHH Help Me...

I just bought a new E-mag for my kid brother for x-mas and I decided to charge it up for him so he would have sommthing to shoot on christmas morning.

Its been on the charger for over 24 hours when the red light woudnt go out I got suspicious. I hooked it up to the gun AGD 1.31 powered up and then it went out. The electronics are completly dead at this point. I charge the battery up for another 5 hours put it back on then the same thing happens AGD 1.31 lights up then goes out, electronics are completely dead. I hooked up the battary to a voltmeter and it only reads about 6 volts?

    What do I do?!?!?!?

I can give him my own personal battery as a last resort but I am visiting now and it is 300 miles away and if I do go back and get the battary then I wont have anything to play with for the weeks it takes AGD to get my gun back?

What other option do I have?

Maybe you just have a bad battery pack. I dont think you could get a new one from AGD in time.... The only thing I can think of is to discharge the battery all the way, then try to recharge it.

But wow! I wish I was your little brother!

It's either the battery or the charger. Check and see if your battery charges on his charger and his on yours. If yours doesn't charge on his charger and his battery does on yours just give him your charger and make sure your battery is fully charged before you leave. Call AGD on Wendsay(maybe Thursday I don't know when they are opening after the holiday) and get a new charger.

If your battery does charge and his doesn't give him your battery on x-mas day so he can try it out and depending on how nice a brother you are either take it back when you leave and have AGD send a new one to him. Or leave it and have them send it to you. I don't see why you would have to send the marker in, you should be able to get the new battery in less than a week

        Alright will do...

Im here now. My personal stuff is at home. I could drive home to my appartment tommorrow but its gonna be a 4-5 hr ride each way. I really dont wanna do that.

I don't think its the charger. On the voltmeter its putting out more than 6 volts.

Fresh off the charger the battary reads 14 volts as soon as I put it on the gun AGD 1.31 flashes on then it turns right off. After taking it off the battary reads 6 volts.

4 hours of additional charging later the same thing happens except the AGD 1.31 stays on this time but is very very dim. The gun does not fire or scroll through any of the modes.

        Odd stuff...

I wont have to send the gun in but I would like to do a firmware update on it too. Ill see what my options are.
Most likely ill just call up wenesday and have it sent to the house. Until then he will just have to do with manual mode.

In the meanwhile my lil bro is getting suspicious of why i spend so much time in the guest room.

Just for the heck of it, I put the voltmeter on the terminals of the E-Mag battery charger. Mine puts out about 26.5 volts That's with a 1000mA Radio Shack A/C wall wart. You battery should be warm when you take it off the charger. (mine is) The battery should read in excess of 18 volts when fully charged, right after it comes off the charger.

I think your charger is bad, or your 12 volt source is bad.

The charger puts out exactly 19.1 volts

I doubt its the charger. It puts out 19.1 volts when hooked up to a universal AC/DC converter. I havent tried it in my car yet.
