    e-mag with x-valve...chuffin???

my brother has a e-mag with a x-valve and when he starts to shoot fast it starts to chuff or short stroke like the stock valve does...does ne one know what the problem could be.

The level 10 most likely needs to be adjusted. Try oiling it first.

the pressure into the gun? Whats it set at? Try raising that. Is it like its gagging, like its firing, but some shots are half or less gas? Mine used to gag at high speed until I raised the pressure to 750-800 or more. It was a 3000 flatline.
If it is a skkk skkk noise, it might be the level 10 kicking in, which is good, cause that woulda been a broken ball otherwise. cheers AGD!!!

if the gun works fine up untill he starts to really rip on the trigger then it is probably the recharge rate on the tank. Happened to me, many presets can not keep up with an LX emag. If you think that it might be the tank, try the short spring and a lower velocity, that might help a little. Go to your local shop and try the gun with a new pure energy or crossfire 4500 and see if the Xvalve is still being starved.

he has 92/4500 crossfire tank on it.. i think the output is like 800 or 850 so i dunno what it could be.and it only does it when he starts to rip on it

Last time that happened I changed the batts in my loader and all was good. I was just shootin faster than the loader was feedin and the LX chuffed on a ball.

I am having the same problem with my emag with X-Valve except it happens also when I dry fire at high firing rates - my flatline is currently set at 800 psi - will turning that up to 850-900 help?

I thought it might be the recharge on the tank as well....

Im sticking with the low recharge tank regulator theory. Some people have problems with the crossfires also, the very new ones seem to be ok, but any tank reg could need a tune up and crap out on an LX emag. They need 800psi to cycle properly, that is insaine! Getting 800+ psi to the valve at 15 bps consistently is a tough job, and if your tank is only putting out 800 well then it isnt going to make it. drop off will occur and the lx will chuff. Drop off happens with other guns also, but the fps just drops.

an adjustable tank is best for an 3.2v LX emag.

yes, 950 or 1000 will make the gun sing

                    chuffing can be caused by:

                    - carrier too tight causing bolt stick
                    - bolt spring worn out
                    - hopper not feeding fast enough
                    - valve not properly lubricated
                    - input pressure too low to quickly recharge the valve
                    - tank can't keep up to the valve
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

yes try turning it up to 850 see what happens. You can go higher. Mine ran at over 1000 when I accidently put it up one time and it was fine. Try it and let us know the results.
