If your usign macroline all you do is pull back on the fitting and pull the line out.
To use the x valve, i do believe you need a new sear. Im not 100% sure but when i bought mine new, it came with a new one which i threw in.
If you havent had the line off, you mostlikely havnt had the valve off the gun. To take it off, unscrew the "bigger" screw on the bottom of the rail which holds the valve, rail and trigger frame in place. Then just pull the valve out and throw the new one in with some fresh oil. Then gas and mow.

don't forget to pull the trigger when taking the valve off, doing so pushes in the on/off pin and keeps it from getting snagged on the body, people snap their on/off pins like this all the time, especially on the retro/x valves because they are much thinner than the classic's on off pins.
other than that you should be able to swap out the other valve and replace it with the x valve without changing anything. your stock sear will be fine.
-on the x valve you will see a threaded hole on the side of the back half, this is where the airline goes. your old valve has a similar hole. with a wrench take the fitting out of the old hole, and put it in the new hole
maybe three turns in for the xvalve, don't overtighten..the x valve is aluminum and will strip and if you strip the hole you are going to be very sad.
its easy. all valves install very similarly. and they are all set up similarly, meaning the air hoses go the same places, their on/off are in the same places and they have bolts & springs. the x valve is just an all aluminum LX retro valve. Good luck!Comment
