    emag home charger quesion

I was reading through havoc site and he said to get a 12-Volt 1500mA AC-to-DC Power Adapter from radio shack for charging the emag battery. I was going to go get one when I remembered that I have a universal AC adapter. It goes up to 12v, but it is only 300mA. Now I have no idea what the mA does, but there is a big difference and I want to know what affect it will have on the battery charging. Also if it is ok to use this adapter should I have the polarity on positive or negative?

The mA is the amount of current it can deliver, that in combination with the rated voltage is what it takes to feed the Battery charger. With a substantially less mA than required you will likey A) never reach a full charge of the Emag battery or 2) Over heat and destroy the wall adapter or C) both, :)

      charger

I actually went and got the radioshack charger that is 13.5 volts with up to 1000ma.

Seems to work great. Anyone disagree or think it is too high?

The car charger says 13-16 volts and 650 ma.

        That should be fine.

Anyone that's not sure should verify the output with a voltage meter,it's most effective to check it while the battery and charger is hooked up and charging.

It's pretty common that most power supply/adapters actually do not put out what they 'say' they do.In fact, they it's very common to find them to be off by alot. It's always safer to check and be sure.

You should get a more full charge with a lower amp. rating then a higher one.
Higher amp. rating=shorter charge time which also=lower charged battery
Lower amp. rating=longer charge time which also=higher charged battery.
