Newbie tank question - 3000 or 4500psi?

I just bought an X-Mag on Ebay. I'm an old CO2 player who's new to the high pressure scene. I know enough to realize I want a high-pressure output tank, probably 88ci. I'm looking at Crossfire preset tanks. Question is, does it make any difference if it's 3000 or 4500 psi?

Just be sure the tank's regulator output pressure is 800psi.

The only difference between them is more shoots per fill with 4500psi, less with 3000.

If your field offer you 4500 fills go for 4500 bottle.
From a 68 4500psi cold fill you can shoot ~1100 rounds.

go with a 4500 psi tank the xvalve with the lvl 10 is an extremely gas hog when it comes to air. i have a emag i use a 68/45 nd tank on mine i get a halo tsa and 3 pods out of one fill

Ya, you might want to get a extra tank down the line if wherever you play doesn't give free fills, by the way how much did you pay for the x mag?

Found a black C&C X-Mag on Ebay for $1100. It's like brand new. Counter says less than 3000 balls through it.

Anyway, I believe I'll start looking for an 88 to 110ci 4500 Crossfire set to 800 psi ou.tput. I had heard that the XMag wasn't exactly air efficient, I guess because of the Level 10

Then you have something wrong with your level 10 setup.

I have a 72/4500 (not much bigger, like 70-80 shots) and I can get 6+ pods and a Halo/Egg out of a full 4500 fill.

I have a NitroDuck Mega Reg 114 ci 3000psi adjustable output tank. The reg needs to be sent back to Nitro Duck for work as it leaks. If you want it, I'll sell it to you for like $50.

well do this

for a 3000psu tank take the CU of the tank and times it by 10
for a 4500psi tank take the CU times 15

thats about how many shots you will get (give or take....cockers get more..mags get less)

i wouldnt recomend steel ...too heavy

and 114cu is too big unless you have it on a remote (imo)

i would recomend a 88/4500 short (same lenth as a 68cu but fatter)

or a straitup 68/4500

I get a good 1000+ shots out of my nitro duck 68/45 on my x valved mag, suits me just fine. I have a season pass to my local field so air fills are acouple bucks.

A 3k tank will perform fine, just fewer shots per tank. Resale value will be terrible if you are thinking of trading up. Another way to look at it is that you can get a 45/4500 and enjoy a small/light tank rather than the minimum config of 68/3000.
