Ok, on my emag I just got I noticed that when I adjust the velocity nut on the back of the valve it seems that the back half of the valve seems to have a bit of play and will start to twist until it is stopped by the edge of the z-lock. Is there anything I can do to stop this?

That's pretty much why the Z lock is there.
