If leaking from back of valve...

If I had a leak between the two halves of my X valve, would that mean that my reg seat o-ring needs to be replaced, or one of the other o-rings on the front side of the "connection"?

there is an oring that should keep the 2 halves from leaking, try a little lube on it so it seals better..

could also mean that the reg seat was slightly mis aligned.

I assume you are talking about the large o-ring?

If so, I will take it apart and relube it, but it was looking fine...

Will give it a once over.
