    do i need a regulator?

i am about to buy my first minimag with a HPA tank. i know that in the A.I.R. valve the r stands for regulator so do i need another regulator? also if i need one what output pressure should i set for best performance? thanks

no, you don't need another reg. I would get a tank out-put pressure of around 800-850...that way if you get a retrovalve you will have a high enough input pressure to get some reactiveness out of the trigger.

There is no need for a third reg. If you were using unregulated CO2 I would suggest a Palmer Stabilizer but with regulated N2 this isn't necessary and could cause shoot-down.

on Co2 a palmer is a decent thought, not neccesary with an expansion chamber or a remote though. if i was to run Co2 i would buy a cheap Expansion chamber.

with HPA you have a tank reg and a good reg in the AIR, a 3rd regulator is redundant and weighs you down more. A good reg wont improve anything and a cheap one will cause shootdown and other problems.

You only need to use the one in the gun and one inline or on the HPA tank. You don't need to triple regulate.
