    Xmag complications.....

OK I have an Xmag that I rarely use. I was forced to use it the other night due to a buddies timmy taking a dump. I don't know what seems to be the problem with the battery but it is definately sub-par when it comes to charge holding (yes I used the supplied agd charger and let it trickle overnight for about 6 hours, so I thought I may be able to play 1 night without running out of juice.......I was wrong) The gun wouldn't even run on E mode (it did boot up so don't tell me to check the trigger, it is good) so I played with it in mech all night......Anyways, I brought the gun home to clean it up and I found some paint had seeped into the on/off switch from a hit I had taken. I cleaned the gun, recharged the battery, put it all back together and whammo!......nothing, no boot up at all, it is fine in mech mode.

Any ideas what the problem may be? Board, selonoid, on/off switch??? Is there any way to legitimately test the board or other components?

As a matter of fact, if anyone does this kind of service (agd cert of course) I'll even send it over to ya. I don't have the time to fiddle with it at this moment.

And last but not least, is the 4.0 software out yet, if so where can i get my hands on it?

    Thanks in advance!!!

Well, gotta start with the basics......

Check battery voltage with a voltage meter,

    Check the voltage 'on gun',

Check the voltage while attempting to fire,

Check the ground plane between the battery, frame and board,

    or.....

Send it in to AGD (warranty?) or other tech....me?

As for 4.0.......nope. Not officially released,no guarantee it ever will be.

    Jay.

Thank you Fireblade. I tested battery alone and it stood at 12.7 volts. I then put it on the gun and tested it, it only showed 2.75 volts......at the red power wire just past the on/off switch on the ace board. I can't tell you what the volts are at firing because the thing won't even boot itself up.

I am now going to fully charge the cells and try it again.

yeah on the ace board, the front part is the on/off that turns the gun on and off. I have power there and at the board, but it just wont boot up. I even thought maybe the lcd went out so i tryed to engage the selonoid after turning it on, but nothing happens?

At this point i am at a loss of words LOL!

Still looking for someone to get that gun up and running for you?

I'm relatively close to you (Oregon) and a full cert. AGD tech.

If you're interested in having it gone through, send me a PM and I'll work things out with you.

If you end up needing an ACE PCB, I have a spare I can let go for 40$. Sounds like you have a bad battery or charger, as well as a broken on/off switch, or its full of paint. (On/Off is on ACE PCB
