    Z-Lock crucial?

I was dissassembling my mag yesterday after a full days worth of playing paintball. As i pulled the valve out i heard something drop of the floor and noticed it was the Z-lock pin.I put it back in and tapped it back in lightly with a very small hammer .It works great but i have a feeling that one of these days i might lose it. Are these z-lock pins crucial in the mag's ability to work?

I don't really think so. I had a classic without a z lock and it worked fine.

BUT if you lose it they are 50 cents, yes a big whopping $0.50 at the AGD store.

ehhh well you can run your gun wihtout it..but iw oudlnt want to do so...i wanna make sure that zlock pin is in there secure because what it does is if for ANY reason that field strip gets loose and falls out and gas is still attached to it...itll prevent the valve from shooting out like a rocket....

im pretty sure that's the function of the zlock pin...if not correct me if im wrong..i tend to be wrong sometimes =o)

Oh you got an anti chop bolt? Put your toungue in there and prove it to me.

yeah the z ock keeps the valve for flying into your face if the field strip screw comes out or breaks off. You can probably find that pin at a hardware storeor make your own.

Its there to keep the reg. from unscrewing from the front half of the valve. You can take the F.S. screw out while under pressure and nothing will happen.

The alpha rails dont have a Z grove milled into them
