    Paint Chopping in 'E' mode

i have an emag, running it in straight 'e' mode, not hybrid, and whenever i try to really get up on the trigger, the field paint, usually blaze, chops like a mother. i have my BPS set at 13, and again this is in E, not hybrid. The field owner said that was the least brittle paint he had, and i am going to play a tourney there too, so i kinda need to figure something out. He also mentioned the Dwell(sp)? of the gun. to set it to the highest setting and step it down until i chop, then go back up one setting. how, if possible, is this done on an emag, and what is the dwell, he mentioned something about the time in milliseconds that the bolt is actually open. i dunno, any feedback would be much appreciated. thanks.

ps i havent had this problem with my usual pain selection, marblizer, but at this field its blaze only.

Are you chopping when you shoot slowly? Perhaps you just need to control your trigger finger :) or or turn the bps down to 10 or so. Also, try a longnose foamie bolt. Mine shoots diablo midnight pretty good. I dont even own a squeegee. :) Oh and I could be wrong but, I dont think the emag has a dwell setting.

You've pretty much figured out your problem on your own. Since Marballizer isn't having problems and Blaze is, that means you're shooting bad paint. Blaze, IMO is garbage. I will only shoot the paint if I have to. Do a drop test with the paint and see how many bounces it takes to break.

The things you can try to deal with Blaze are:

-Make sure the paint fits your barrel

-Use plastic nubbins so you can be assured it's not double feeding

      -Use a foamie bolt

Also, you state that when you really get railing on the trigger it starts to chop. Are you using a 12V Revy? Casting flash removed from the elbow? PF plug adjusted properly?

But as I stated before, you say your gun runs fine with Marbs, but with Blaze it chops bad, so you can be pretty much certain that the paint is at fault unless something in your gun setup changed inbetween switching to Blaze.

See if turning the SPS setting down to 10 helps fix the problem.

There is no dwell control on the E-Mag.

freak barrel system matched properly to the paint bore.
12v revvy on a warp feed.
friends angel was having same problem tonight, so maybe it was paint.
problem is... at the tourney the only paint availible will be blaze, inferno, hell fire. supposedly blaze will be the least brittle. i dunno what i am gonna do, and its kinda hard to control a trigger finger on a back player shooting a lane off the break. =(

          RPS is the best.

I always use RPS whenever possible. IMHO 50 percent of the time diablo is crap. They should spend more money making good paintballs instead of making good advertisements. Paintball= marketing now a days.

Yeah there is a dwell setting on an e-mag. Only one setting-- super fast. If you use the super bolt-- super duper fast.

If you are having problems chopping it means the paint isnt feeding right. Try the smallest bore possible.

I've shot 3 month old blaze with powdery white stuff on the outside of paint, dimpled team colors in cold, hard raining weather and they both shot fine without any breaks except a few. Only bad case of paint I've had with my emag was a box of the new shell RPS premiums which I matched perfectly to the freak. But it was most likely the stupid store's fault for not getting fresh paint. Bounce test was averaged to between 1-3 and that's the first day I got the paint. Emags usually shoot paint very well.
