2ndry Reg on an X-valved Mag

K, I know that a 2ndry reg will starve a mag when using it with nitro. But, what if you did this:

Get a reg with a high output (palmers stabilizer 0-900psi for example)
Crank the reg's output all the way up

Would'nt that be the same as using an adjustable tank and cranking the output up to get reactivity?

no because say 850 comes out of your preset, like a crossfire, a reg cant pressureize the air any more, so it wouldnt add any pressure, the air would go right through, and it might still starve the valve, and on an xmag it wouldnt be able to be mounted anywhere
EDIT* sorry x-valved mag, not xmag, yeah it could be mounted, my bad

Aaahh I see. You can't raise the pressure of the gas only lower it. Well thank you then. Also, you can mount it on an X-Mag or E-Mag. You could get the sideline stabilizer.

i have a palmer stabilizer on my mag right now because i am running c02 and was very impressed with how they handled co2 on my tippmann. i plan on getting compressed air fairly soon. do i have to take the stabilizer off when i switch? how can it starve the valve if you turn the stabilizer up to 850-900 psi? sorry, i'm relitively new to mags (hence me still running c02).

The reason it will starve the mag even if set to 900 is because it will still restrict airflow. Happens moreso to mags because of the way they function (dump chamber needs to be fully filled before firing, otherwise you get shootdown).

There really is no point running a mag on a stabilizer if you already have a nitrogen system.

yeah, if its a classic it sholdn't give it shootdown but on every other valve it will, cept the nazi-valve i think (smart mag), but since mags have internal regs you shouldnt need a secondary reg anyways

in general, more regs arn't good. one reg (the AIR) reg will do PERFECT for any 'mag marker. you don't need another in any case...a good expansion chamber for CO2 and nothing for N2. Will it hurt? not always. Will it help? Hardly Ever.

sell your old reg when you buy N2. You won't need it
