    yeah. You use I think lye (NaOH) to remove the old anno and then reanno the raw aluminum.

      hmmm. any strong base? KOH is also called lye and its a bit cheaper and easier for me to get ahold of cause all the sodium i have is hydrating itself makin it hard to find molarities without titrating, and i dont wanna put anything too strong on it. whew that was a mouthful. im really not familliar with the anodizing proccess but if you can give me the details i may be able to figure something out...

        It seems like any strong base would work. There are plenty of how to articles on anodizing on the web, do a google search. You might try asking one of the companies that does annodizing to tell you how to remove anno. Sorry I can't be of more help.

          hmm. ok thanks man. ill figure it out. i may even be able to just use some mag/alum polish and rub it off but id rather not use an abrasive...
