how come agd tells you not to tighten the back screw? whats the point of it besides holding on the frame. why would tightening the screw help at all

IIRC tightening it down makes the pin "longer" brings the valve closer to the body. Maybe only by 0.001" but its enough to make a difference.. someone correct me if I'm wrong.
