Question on twist lock assembly

Ok, im putting a new body on my mag with cocker threads. So i knocked out the whole twist lock assembly with a hammer. Anyway, i was wondering if you seperate the twist lock part from the pin part (the piece that holds to the frame). And if you do seperate them to put the pin on, how do you do it? Thanks!

once the twistlock assembley is out, you dont need to do anything to it or take it apart, and it doesnt go anywhere else. you can just throw it out.
