I have an xmag with the 3.0 software. Even when I turn the shot buffering up to the higher settings, when I pull the trigger in lightly the gun goes full auto. Do I need to update my software or is there something else I can do?

You could give me your gun and all the problems of paying for paintball and fixing your gun could go away
. But no i have no idea, just wanted to be a jackass

you're trigger magnets might be too close together. IE. check that little hole in ur trigger and get a 1/16" allen wrench and turn that beast anti-clockwise so the magnet in the back of the trigger goes further from the sensor thingy.
or we could trade guns. i have an emag w/3.2 and a Q loader i'd be willing to aleviate you of your problem mag.

You may have to reverse the wiring on the solenoid wires. The solenoid magnetic field alters the operation of the HES, so by reversing the wires, you can change the magnetic field to one that does not affect the triggering of the gun.Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.Comment

Do they need to be broke loose and resoldered? Sorry the marker isn't in front of me right now.720 XmagComment

The wires need to be physically reversed. If you are not comfortable soldering around heat sensitive components, cut the wires halfway between the solenoid and the board. Then join and resolder the reversed wires together.Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.Comment

Solenoids are nothing but a big coil of wire!!! They have no polarity, so you can't out them in "backwards", that's why both wires are the same color!! From my understanding, v3.0 had more than a few bugs, try getting your board reflashe, and the problem will probably disappear!!! Try contacting BlackVCG or Tunaman, they have a faster turnaround tims than AGD!!! Hope this helps!!!E-Mag's on a diet

Then how come everyone who's had that full auto issue reversed the wires and the problem goes away? Care to explain that phenomenon?

They may not be polarized, but they do create different magnetic fields. Apparently, it's the shape of that magnetic field that can cause the issues. The relation of the strength/shape variables to the position of the trigger magnet DOES cause issues. Reversing the wires will correct it in most cases. Maybe if the coil were shielded from the case better?...who knows.Originally posted by toymysterGood move!!! Day, trust me, I've been dealing with solenoids for more years than I can remember, and I can tell you, they have no polarity to them!!

Tuna, comming from you, I believe it, but untill this instance, I had not heard or seen any situation where that makes a bit of diferrence!!! That is strange indeed!!! Now shielding the solenoid is definately worth looking into...!!!!E-Mag's on a diet

I believe if you switch the wires you reverse the current in the coil of the solenoid and by the right hand rule it reverses the direction of the solenoid. Making it go in the wrong direction but i've never seen how the e-mag works, im just eager to make my first post on these forums. Hope this helps you guys out i may be wrong i did fail my first year of electrical engineering.

No, you're not wrong, and welcome to AO!!!! Correct me if I'm wrong, I know the direction of the field changes, But not the strength!! Now if something like the dirction affects the board in a funny way, what else is effecting the performance of the board that goes unnoticed???E-Mag's on a diet
