    Title gors here.

LoL, yeah I had changed my mind again, I am sending it in for Chroming. I am just going to mask off certain parts to prevent the chrome.

I think chrome is a non-ferrous metal however, but I don't think that it will have any effect on the magnetic field. If it did I will polish it off.

But now you mention it I am going to to a little test with different metals to see the effects on the trigger. Also, when you chrome aluminum you have to flash it with copper so the chrome can be applied.

    Thanks again for the input.

Non-ferrous materials are transparent to magnetic fields.

Exactly, So this means that the chrome would have no effect correct?

Non-ferrous materials will have no effect at all. Ferrous materials - you would need a good amount shaped well to deflect the field to make any difference - I tried about 1/8" thickness of ferrous metal and didn't matter. I don't know what chrome is off the top of my head.

Ferrous materials don't actually block magnetic fields, they redirect them.

Well I know copper is a non-ferrous metal which is what they will have to flash the aluminum with then the chrome plate. I think chrome is a non-ferrous metal.

So you tried to disrupt the trigger magnets on your x-mag and they still worked?

I can't test it as I have not received mine in the mail yet.
