Is the valva what you screww the bottle into? and do I just unscrew the knob on the other end before unscrewing the bottle?

u talking about the mag valve or just the thing u screw your tank into? either way im really worried for u. take the tgihter know out then insert tank clockwise then turn knob in and gas should go...its basic paintball common sence

mags use an on/off pin internal to the gun that is part of how they fire. it's a very specific part that is necessary for the marker to work properly and so lots of techs here tell you to check it or oil it and whatnot. it's a little pin in a brass assembly stuck into the bottom part of the valve, not normally visible to anyone unless you pull the valve out of the body.

when most people talk about on/offs at games and such they are talking about the thing your tanks screws into that has a knob on the front of it to turn on or off the air flow. I think that's what you're referring to, but it's easy to get confused on these forums because there are two on/off things mentioned.

        hope this helps.

Yeah, whatever you do, don't unscrew the "knob" and try to screw an air cylinder in there. I believe what you are referring to is the velocity adjustment screw. If so, it won't fit anyway, so you really can't hurt much, but with your level of experience I'd refrain from taking anything apart just yet... You're probably confused because some Mags don't come with an ASA adapter, hence, nowhere to screw in your tank.

I know the gun I got has had some upgrades to it because it does'nt look the pictures of stock guns-it has a drop down and what I'm figuring is a on/off attached to it(that's where the hpa bottle screws into) and I believe it has an exspansion chamber or gas through for grip-not sure which. So I should unscrew the on/off valve before connecting or disconnect the bottle?

No, just unscrew it enough so that the on/off pin will not depress the pin in the HPA cylinder. Screw your tank into the ASA, and finally, when you're ready to gas-up the gun, screw in the on/off knob until you hear it charge the valve. Do you have any pics you could post? That would help a lot, but hopefully, this is the info you were looking for. Good luck!
