can anyone fill me in? myb wut's wrong, or wut i can do to fix it? thx
...and then i'm like, "Whoo, PARTY!!"

A lot of the noise has to do with your barrel, what kind of barrel are you using?? Also check your velocity!!!

      Hey there..

I thought the same thing.. In all my years of playing it always seemed that the Mags basically made a PUFF PUFF PUFF sound and thwap thwap thwap when the balls hit me!! It always bugged me that the Mag was so quiet compared to my cocker..

Recently I sold my cocker and got a minimag too... I was at an indoor field a few weeks ago and I was using it as well as one of my team mates and freak it sounded loud!! I was disturbed as well.. I asked around but really didnt get much of an answer.

So just a couple of weeks ago I picked up a new barrel.. A J&J ceramic.. Nice barrel.. Shoots straight, cleans it self which was a first for me!!! but what I didnt realize was how quiet this barrel is.. A friend wanted to try my marker and stood about 10 feet away and it was doing the PUFF PUFF PUFF that I had always heard before!! I asked my other friends and they said, yea, that thing is freaking quiet! We hate it when you snipe!! (we where playing rec)..

So, Not sure what more will do it, but that is a good start :)

yes its probably the barrel. the more porting a barrel has, generaly the quiter it is.

also you do have a bolt bumber on there right? if not that could be your problem.

Also keep in mind that to the people you're shooting at it's probably alot quieter.

My mag is pretty quiet. Alot Quieter than my friends E99.

yeah thats true it definatly sounds diff to the ppl ur shooting at...i had 6 on 1 in rec ball in the woods and i was taking them out i won eventually and they said they wouldve had no clue where i was except for the bringht white beanie on my head...to my the gun sounds loud but your right enxt to it when you shoot it, so to thoer ppl it sounds quieter i guess..

actually now tht u mentioned it, i realized tht my blue bumper, on the inside ring where it touches the bolt has actually stripped a little, but not so much so tht it's loose on the bolt, but enuff that it's actually starting to rip, and is ABOUT to lose a ring off the middle... if u understand wut i'm trying to say, hahaha ^^"

wut barrell should i get? and would it matter if i replace tht bumper?

My old Mag sounds like the "boing" you hear through the buttstock of a M16 when you shoot. Not the "crack" from the muzzle end, just the "boing". It's quite different and just a bit quieter than my two Cockers and Spyder.

I use a CP 14" barrel (came with the gun), if that helps.
                    God gave you a soul.

Sometimes the porting in the barrel is directed backwards as well. It will sound quite loud to you, but nearly silent to those you are shooting at. I'm not sure how many aftermarket barrels are made this way, but the stock barrel on my A5 is like that. Unfortunatley, there is not really enough porting in that barrel for it to make much of a difference. There's only one ring of ports, and it's right in the middle of the barrel which makes no logical sense to me. Why would you want to lose that velocity in the middle instead of at the end? Needless to say, I replaced the stock barrel before I ever even played a game with it, so I don't really know. I suppose it could work just fine.

thx guys, i'm thinking i should replace the blue bumper first, and if the noise doesn't go, i'll find a better barrell.
seeing everyone opinion, i'm thinking abt j&j ceramic and myb a evil, or if i got the cash, i'll go for some of the more expensive ones thx again
