Here we go. I haven't even taken this gun to the field yet as I've been trying to get it up and running. Well, everything seemed like it was good to go, but I remembered that I had the pressure up high because I was still in test mode and figured that i'd need to change the spring for my level 10 once I lowered my pressure anyways (that and dry firing was eating a huge amount of gas it seemed). As such, I went to take the xvalve & lX bolt out and for some reason it wouldn't budge. I finally got the valve out (thought it was an on-off pin sticking at first but that seemed fine) but the bolt and spring wouldn't come out. Turns out I could push it in further, but it wouldn't come back further than a certain point (lip of the bolt wouldn't go anyther further than just past the opening for the sear on the underside of the body. Try and try as I could (I removed the body from the rail at this point) I still couldn't get the bolt out. After finally applying enough force (I'm not a little guy either) I finally got the bolt out of the body. However, now none of the level 10 bolts go all the way back into the body. They fit in my barrel, but not past the ring/washer in the body. Because of this, I can't even put the valve back in. I tried a LX bolt from 2 other guns and none will fit in my body. The level 7 bolt I have laying around will fit just fine though. Unfortunately, this is my only mag, and there are no spare emag bodies laying around (and the classic body that's available won't fit on the rail). I was about to go take it to the field for the first time tomorrow, but it's looking like I'm screwed. Any suggestions out there (besides buying a new body)?

The bolt doesn't fit the body??? Which spring are you using?? If it's the cut one (medium), make sure the cut end is on the bolt, not the body!!! And check the parts for obvious damage!!! Hope this helps!!!!E-Mag's on a diet
Stay tuned for Pics!!!

The level 10 bolt is a little larger in diameter than the level 7 bolt.
The inside hole of the retaining washer may be deformed a bit. Take a round file and file a bit of the metal away until the level 10 bolt fits. It probably won't take much.Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

I'm appreciate that you're trying to help, but the TIP of the bolt needs to be able to pass through the washer, and that is not happening. If you watch your mag closely the bolt does indeed go through the washer and into the barrel during firing.

From what I understood, the primary reason for the washer was to allow a place for the bolt spring to push back from when resetting the bolt... is there another purpose for this washer? I'm just wondering about the aftermath of a washer with a new (and almost guaranteed out-of-spec inner diameter/shape). Does this washer play any part in aligning the bolt with the barrel?

The powertube of the valve keeps the bolt aligned. The washer is the backing for the bolt spring as you thought. There is a significant difference between the level 7 and level 10 bolt diameters. That alone shows that the inner diameter of the hole isn't critical.Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
