    RT Pro Angst

The closest I've found to answers for these issues are "oil your gun" and "use an allan wrench to tighten the field strip screw". I've done both, and these are the issues I'm having. Any help would be most appreciated...

This is a new, out-of-the-box rt pro.

1: if I use the red lvlX spring, the trigger WILL NOT gas up. if I switch to the gold (short) spring I can get the trigger to work. I have no idea why this would happen. I've read here that the gold spring is less effective with a vert feed, so I'd at least like a chance to try the red one...

2: when I gas my gun, using the on/off on my ASA, the gun fires once and starts venting out the back when I first open the tank, then fires again and stops venting when I open the tank more fully. this is really bad in the dead zone, especially given #3, which means I have to gas/degass my gun a bunch.

3: I have to gas/degass/lube my gun about 3 times to get it to function properly, as well as having to cycle the velocity fully up and fully down a couple of times to get the gun to not leak, but still fire. The internal parts are literally dripping with oil, yet I still add more in the hopes that it will work...

is this just break-in pains, or do I have to look forward to this hoping/praying ceremony for the life of my gun? I've put about a case through the gun this weekend (it works nice once it gets up and running)

    thanks for your help.

1:install the red spring...then start off by using no lvl 10 shims...until your gun can function properly...it may be a shim issue...if not lube the powertube and the powertube stem

2: i ferget if the rt pro's use the ULT stock...but if its the ult oil that beast and put some drops of oil into the macroline elbow and cycle the gun

3: try using a regular a.s.a instead of the on/off ..i never really liked on/offs..but that's just my opinion...

Oh you got an anti chop bolt? Put your toungue in there and prove it to me.

I'll give this a try. Can you explain in 1000 words or less why the bolt spring would prevent the trigger from coming online? for the life of me I cannot figure it out...

they are available with the ULT, but mine uses the standard on/off. I'd rather go with the reactivity.

rrrrr... I'll try this only as a last resort. ;-) I really like my on/off asa.

I'll happily take any other suggestions. I want to like this gun, but it's not making that easy right now.

1, Turn up your velocity when changing from stock to red (cut) spring.
        2. Try holding the trigger down when you gas up.

Once you get it setup right, I know you'll love it.

and don't forget...everytime you change to a different spring, you need to adjust the carrier in the L 10 and the velocity again.

I've bottomed out the adjustment screw with no change.

jctam> 2. Try holding the trigger down when you gas up.

this I do need to remember...

very nice, thanks. (funny how "posting and you" got stickied and that didn't...)

me too... it's just a bit dissapointing considering my classic worked so well for so long with so little trouble...

my bolt has never stuck or leaked, so how would I adjust the carrier while changing springs?

as for velocity, I'd love to adjust it, but the trigger simply doesn't come online when the gun is acting up, even with the velocity screw bottomed out.

I haven't gassed it up since playing last weekend, so it's possible that these were just wear-in issues. I'll fill my tank and see how it's working this weekend...

            Thanks for all your help.

Any chance you've got your on/off ASA opened up too far? I know it sounds strange, but I noticed that some on/offs when you turn the knob it will let out gas, but if you turn it out too much or too little, sometimes you'll starve the gun of gas. My on/off bottomline worked this way, and it caused me some trouble initially as I didn't realize that I could actually turn on the flow of gas, but by opening up the on/off too far the pin in the on/off actually started to seal off the airflow as it depressed the pin on the tank.

I don't think so. I have played with this, backing the tank out a turn before turning it on and the like, and it hasn't really changed anything.

also, once the gun gets up and going, it runs really well, which wouldn't happen if the tank were starving.
