ult piston came apart

i havea ult, and had to replace the small black oring, in the process, the piston came apart into the little rod and a big fat roun nut like thing, first of all is this normal, secondly what shuld i use to put it back to gether i was thinking red loctite

Blue loctite will work. Big hole goes towards the on/off pin, small hole underneath.
